My summer so far

Here is what I have done this summer so far:

For Father's Day every year, we give my dad pictures of all of us boys. Here is one of the pictures my mom took of me.

We found a bird nest on the wreath on our front door. We took it to some friends where they were incubating baby quail to see if they would hatch. But they never did.

We went to California, down by San Diego. We played at the beach a lot. Here Comptyn and I are digging for sand crabs. They do not look like regular crabs. My mom does not like them!

We went to my Great Uncle Marty and Aunt Elizabeth's house. They let me hold Kaa, their boa.

We found a really nice park near our hotel. I climbed up to the top of this rock. It was really high!

On the way home we stopped in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Here we are with General Sherman and walking inside a HUGE hallow fallen down tree.

We have gone thru a hay maze at the Perazzo Dairy.

We roasted marshmallows at the Sommer's house.

We went hiking with the Coblentz family in California. We also had a picnic.

We have gone to the swimming pool and played around the house. I am going to watch 2 dogs next week for a family in our ward. Their names are Spanky and Alfalfa. I will get pictures of them next week.

Stay tuned for more! We are going to Utah in a few weeks! Hope your summer is as fun as mine!

Then we had our award ceremony. I got the Math Wizard and Student of the Month awards.

my first pinewood derby

Tuesday night was my first pinewood derby. My car's name is Herbie (the derby) Car. I painted it all by myself. Dad helped me cut it out and sand it. I got to race a lot. Came in 6th place out of 10. We all got a ribbon. We ate nachos and cookies. I had a lot of fun. Can't wait until next year.

Elder Ortiz's Fire of Faith

The missionaries came over for dinner a few nights ago. Elder Ortiz did this Fire of Faith on me and then on daddy. He said that when we have faith we sometimes have to wait for the witness because it comes AFTER the test of our faith. Like tithing, we pay our tithing and have faith that we will be blessed. We have to pay it first and then get blessed. Not ask to see the blessing before we pay it. So he took tea bags and made a square out of them and set it on our hand:
Then he lit it on fire!
"Do you trust me Bishop Lords? Do you have faith I am not going to burn your hand?"

Here we go!

It gets a litte warmer.....

And closer to the hand......

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!

It's REALLY close!

And then it POPS off your hand and rises!

Higher and higher and higher! It was really neat.
